So sorry to learn of bob's passing. I was truly blessed as Woodstock superintendent to have bob as a member of the board of education. Mr Holland's thoughtful insights and consistent focus on the best programs and staff for our children are long remembered. A true loss for Woodstock John Krewer

To say that Judy and I were shocked and saddened to the core to read Bob's obituary online from Georgia would be an understatement. Bob and I were fraternity brothers at UConn and we shared a lifetime of varied experiences throughout our lives--boating on Doolittle Lake, football games, the great outdoors, books, politics, he was even the loudest cheerleader at Roseland Lake watching our two children rowing for Pomfret School. Of course he enticed me to smoke a pipe but it never tasted as good as it smelled. One of the luckiest days of his life, however, was when he met his future wife Leslie--what a match they made! Our hearts are with you Leslie, and Morgan and Gardner too. We feel your void and we shall miss him dearly. Mike and Judy Hurd

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Bob's passing. My husband,Clarence, and Bob had many spirited discussions about world affairs. I will miss Bob's wise insights into Board of Trustee matters. He will be missed.
