I am so sorry that I had not known earlier of Red's passing. Although I coached briefly with him at the HS level in New Jersey and followed his very successful career at the college and professional level, my greatest memory of Red is how affected he was at the time of the 1967 Arab-Israeli War, particularly his pride at the global leadership and intellectual power of Abba Eban. We had re-connected in recent years and had enjoyed a lively email correspondence, a great deal of which revolved around Israel and Middle East geopolitics. Red was a dedicated coach and mentor to generations of young men whom he coached.
