While we are leaving condolences by way of the internet, it certainly would not have been Stanley's way of business. My wife and I had the pleasure of Stanley's friendship for nearly 3 decades and did enjoy the conversations, mentoring and advice along the way. As a new married couple stationed on Palm Coast, Stanley and Lindy were such an enjoyable pair. We moved in next door with a bean bag chair, a 12 inch diameter charcoal grill and very little in the way of possessions being married less than a month. It was just too funny to see them watching over us for an hour as we tried to cook dinner on a couple dozen barely warm pieces of charcoal. They just finally said "kids, come on over here and use our grill, it's still warm" and of course since they were well established their grill cooked in about 7 minutes. We borrowed things back and forth and had the fondest memories. When we were transferred, Stanley was there as the last items were loaded in the truck and Lindy made us sandwiches for the road. Stanley and Lindy together continued to be good friends until her passing and Stanley has always been one of my wife's stalwart friends and advisors, even if they only spoke a few times a year. Stanley is now the last of our older friends to pass. There have been many who have adopted us as children and/or grandchildren as we moved around the world, but Stanley was certainly the first. We all know Stanley lived life on his terms, but within his terms, there was a lot to learn. It always feels like we have a few guardian angels around the farm, some beautiful hummingbirds, maybe the first Robin of spring, Stanley will probably show up and put his paws around us as a warm old bear. I guess it has now become our time to take our place as the older generation. Thank you Stanley.

When my husband and I were first married in Nov. 1990 we moved to Palm Coast, FL and were so very blessed to live beside Stanley and Lindy. They were the best! They were so good to us. Since transferring away, we have maintained a close long distance relationship for 26 years. Stanley provided much wisdom, insight, advice and laughter and has always been a dear respected friend to us. We will miss and treasure him forever. Underneath that rough exterior was a very special and very kind soul! Rest in peace until we laugh again together.
