It was a great pleasure to be Tom's friend. He was a kind gentleman always willing to serve. He was a regular sacristan at St Peter Claver Church in West Hartford, and his outgoing leadership of the Notre Dame alumni club of greater Hartford energized the local alumni and brought them together in faith and fellowship. He will be greatly missed.

To the Krug family,
I barely knew Tom but I wanted to let you know what it lasting positive affect he had on me. I first met him at a University of Notre Dame alumni club luncheon. I believe it was the only one I ever attended. However, every month, a few days before the event, I get a phone call from Tom. In the most friendly and welcoming tone, Tom would remind me of the luncheon and courteously invite me to come.

Each Christmas Eve, for many years, I would see Tom in the rear of Saint Peter Claver church. I don't know if he was isn usher or he just liked standing in the back. But we would chat for just a few minutes before mass. Again, I found time to be of a kind, positive, and welcoming spirit. I can only imagine how wonderful he would be As a father, grandfather, uncle, or close friend.
This Christmas Eve I looked for Tom in the rear of the church. And of course, He was not there. I was hoping that day would never come, but, we know it comes for us all.
I will miss Tom, even from my brief encounters. I know you will miss him more. He was a great man.
