My condolences to the Carroll family as I just heard about your loss from friends. We were fraternity brothers at Sig Ep while attending Penn. Tom was a year behind me in Mechanical Engineering as well so we had a lot in common during our formative years. Tom was quite a character and very entertaining during our college years. He was super smart and creative and very much into living life to the fullest. His many stories about girl friends, ROTC, growing up in Connecticut all come rushing back as I reflect on the time I was able to spend with Tom all those years ago. If there is anything I can do to help or if you need to chat or a laugh about an old Tom Carroll story, please reach out via email below. Tim Wilson

Bill - My sincere condolences on the loss of your son. I'm sure it is twice as hard losing someone at this time of year. I can relate as we lost our mother on 12/24.
Take care - you are in my prayers.

The Colgan Family was very saddened to hear about the death of our good friend Tom. We were reminiscing about all the wonderful memories we shared with Tom throughout his life and it was clear that Tom always enjoyed life to its fullest and did it at his own pace. I can still recall the basketball and baseball seasons like they were yesterday. I especially recall the hours I spent waiting in the locker room after basketball practice for Tom to finish his methodical, glacial routine while my Mom or Mrs. Carroll waited patiently in the car to drive us home. Nothing bothered Tom. I was fortunate enough to have the ever-positive Mr. Carroll as a baseball coach and I could see where Tom derived his steadfast focus. At an early age, Tom could read the entire directions for the most complicated board game while the rest of wrestled around him and then explain the game in painstaking detail. In high school Toms classmates used to marvel at how easy he digested the toughest academic material with little effort. I remember Tom as a tough competitor but willing to help anyone with anything. He was the type of guy who never had a bad word to say about anyone. Over the past 15 years, my parents would occasionally get an unexpected visit from Tom just stopping by to say hello and I know how much they enjoyed it. Tom never stopped being a great friend and we will all miss him dearly. God Bless you Tom!

My accept my deepest condolences on Tom's untimely passing. I will always remember him as a charismatic, confident, and smart Army engineer officer, as well as a gifted runner and skier. He made people happy with his enthusiasm and passion for living. My prayers are with Susan, Natalie and Conor.
