So sorry to hear of Sonny's passing- I have such nice memories of him. When I was little and visited Gramma Kelly on Wells Street (my sister Candy's Gram), Sonny was always such a gentleman to us girls and, more importantly, to his Mum. He had a smile for everyone he met, which led me to believe for years that his name was actually "Sunny". When I was growing up, and walking to catechism at St James or buying craft supplies at Fairway, I would often see him at the various Mom and Pop shops on Main Street and, again, he always had a smile and cheerful words to share. When I was working at Pratt and Whitney and traveling throughout the shop as a female apprentice in an ocean of men, I could count on him (and Jeff Doll) to give me uplifting, supportive words of wisdom, reminding me to keep my chin up and have patience, that being back in college while raising a two year old all by myself would pay off handsomely in the long run (and they were right). When I got laid off from Pratt, and worked at Home Depot, Sonny would stop in and chat now and then, even searching me out when he did a small kitchen makeover. Needless to say, he was the kindest, easiest going client I ever worked with. The world is going to be short one sunny dispositioned gentleman without Sonny, but now you'll all have a forever smiling guardian angel looking out for you.
With great sympathy,
Burma Shaw
