Your birthday
I miss you
March 10, 2018
I got to know Carolyn through her generosity to others. I first met her as a donor to Operation Homefront. I was the VP of Development at the time and Carolyn wanted to make a gift after the passing of Al. I flew to Chicago to meet her and when I asked what hotel she recommended, she said "You have to stay with me. I have an extra room and I'm going to a party and would love for you to join me". That was Carolyn, gracious, warm, caring and trusting. She didn't know me when she invited me into her home but after that we became good friends. A love of horses is something we shared and while we only occasionally spoke (every 2-3 months) our conversations were always lively and fun. I spoke with her in the very beginning of December and I called recently (our 3 month mark) only to find that I was too late. I will miss you so much Carolyn. Your generosity brought us together but your personality and kindness kept us friends. Thank you for being a part of my life, Carolyn. I will never, ever forget you.

I am so sorry for the loss of your loved one. I know how painful it can be to lose a loved one in death. My heart goes out to all of you. May Almighty God give the family the needed comfort now and in the days to come. I look forward to the time when there will be no more pain and death. What a wonderful time that will be.

As the old adage goes, after her they broke the mold. It's true, there will never be another like Carolyn, she literally drew everyone's attention when entering a room, a combination of her beauty, the way she carried herself and her smile... as her husband last said, when she flashed that smile, you knew Carolyn was back!
I remember our mother telling us, she never had a favorite, that she loved all of us equally, but when Carolyn drove up in front of the house, she sprang from her chair with a smile from ear to ear, saying here comes my favorite daughter now!
Carolyn is here!
It was a delightful to finally hear the truth to the suspicion I had all along, how could it not have been true, everybody loved Carolyn, how could you not!
I thought I'd have a hole in my heart when she past, but she is still there, same as always, bigger than life itself and just as full of love as always...
but I well miss hearing her voice.
Just another thing, in a huge list of memories..,
Hearing her sing along to the songs on the radio, she had a beautiful voice, I often wondered why that wasn't on the list of all she accomplishments she could have just as easily been an entertainer, having been a model, airline hostess... they called them stewardesses in those days, interior decorator, attorney... philanthropist... wife, friend and sister... I'm especially fond of the last!

My condolences to your family. May God give you peace of heart and of mind to get through this trail. PHILLIPPIANS 4:7
