I had the pleasure of welcoming Professor Moran into my History of Art course many years ago.I was pleased that he enjoyed my course and found greater interest in the arts because it - best compliment ever. I send my sympathy and condolences to family and may the Lord keep him close always.

I wish to speak of things left unspoken.

Statistical power at .30 or below... Brilliant and Bold and Paradigm-changing!

Presence in the classroom... in the back room of courtrooms planning... in national discipline conference side rooms and lobby areas with students circling in awe... in FIU labs in strategy sessions and trial strategy trainings... in a contentious defense in a conference room in which he was not even on the committee yet stayed until You got this was shared... in support of TAs and RAs who had the honor of working with him... Life-changing...! For me... and sometimes (as they share) for my students...

A great additional memory... he taught me (again... his willingness to be Dr. Gary Moran - consistently vocal and unfiltered and unapologetic and larger than life... taught me... and Im betting more than me... that it is appropriate and... well right... to say)... how to say No with strength and character and admiration... even right in the middle of an ongoing semester.

I am honored... and humbled... to share the unspoken... and so very, very grateful to have been in the Presence... Thank you, Dr. Moran. Thank you...

I send my most heartfelt condolences to all of the Moran family.

I was very fortunate to have been one of his students because he was an amazing teacher. He will be missed greatly and I will always smile when I remember him.

I was blessed to have Professor Moran as one of my teachers at FIU. He was an absolute blast. He was very opinionated which often meant the most interesting discussions. He was a great man and will be missed by all. Rest in peace.
