Gracie was my next door neighbor in Midland, TX in the early 2000's and we became instant friends. I loved hearing about her adventures of her younger life in Cuba as well as her stories about she and her husband's teaching.
Gracie was a unique, loving, interesting and truly genuine lady. Wherever she was, things always seemed brighter!
On several occasions she dropped by bringing various authentic Cuban dishes. Her black beans, rice and chicken were the best!
She lived the life most of us could only dream of and aspire to, and now she's in Heaven with her loved ones who went before her. God Bless you Gracie and thank you for being my friend.

Rest In Peace GRACIELLA Love the Strony family

It isn't often you come across an individual with the ability to impact the lives around them the way Graciella Blanco did. Never have I witnessed such vibrancy in a woman her age. I met her when she was in her late 80's and I am grateful for every year that I have had to call her friend. My love for her will never dim and she will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Graciella was the most amazing woman I have ever known. I knew her first as my college Spanish teacher, then mentor, mother-in-law, grandmother to my children and great-grandmother to their children and always--friend. She was selfless, fiercely loving of her family and friends, and devoted to the thousands of students she taught. She had a great sense of fun and an ageless spirit. In her 80's she joined my family on a tube trip down the Frio River having the time of her life. During that same period she began teaching Spanish through Lone Star College-Kingwood's adult continuing education program. She was like the Pied Piper, her students stayed with her as long as she continued to teach, many, more than 9 consecutive semesters. She was adored by all. We shall miss her terribly, but we have some wonderful memories of this amazing woman.
