To The Bloom Family: It is with great sorrow that the Isaac E. Young High School Alumni Association (New Rochelle, NY) notes the passing of our year 1948 "whiz kid" graduate Philip Bloom. His scholarship, his sharp and witty commentaries, his journalistic contributions to his class yearbook and his hustle on the school's cross-country track team, pointed him out even back then as someone to be watched. He once wrote: "I...give great credit to the teachers of I.E.Y. (H.S.)for their guidance and inspiration." Yes, but thereafter you went your own way,"Phil" and fulfilled that early promise tremendously.

Dear Elaine, Anne and David,
Our deepest condolences on Philip's death. His passing is a great loss to all of us who knew him and worked with him in the judiciary. We will miss him in the conferences where his humor and pragmatic solutions were always so well received and respected. Miette and Mike Burnstein

Dear Elaine, Your family's loss is a loss for anyone who knew Philip. It has been our privilege to have sat next to you at Temple Emanu-El for all these years. The "Judge" always had a warm thought or humorous remark when we talked. Our love and condolences to you and your extended family.

Dearest Elaine, my deepest and sincere condolences for your recent loss of your beloved husband Philip. He was certainly one of the most charismatic and enjoyable human beings, always a smile, always a positive and often funny word for everyone. You shared a truly meaningful and joy filled life together with your family, and he will remain in all of our hearts always

Dear Elaine, Anne, David and family.
Our sincere condolences on Phil's passing. We have fond memories of a kind, good man who mentored so many young lawyers. Our children remember the goodies' that Phil always shared when they visited the office. May cherished memories help sustain you at this time. Too far away (OR) to be with you at this time, but sending hugs and good thoughts.
Fondly,
Joan & Stanley Kuperstein

Dear Elaine, Anne, David and family.

Our sincere condolences on the passing of Phillip. He was always a gentleman and a scholar, having spent many hearings with him at 8am, I always knew my clients would get a fair and well considered decision and that a just and reasoned decision was made. I also often walked out with a smile on my face. I was fortunate to have known Phil outside the courtroom, and enjoyed talking to him always. He will be missed and fondly remembered.

Dear Elaine, Anne & David,
My deepest condolences to you on the loss of Philip. I'll always remember his expression of Baruch Hashem whenever he was asked how he was feeling. May you be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

I was his court reporter for 3 years in the 1990s. I truly enjoyed working with him, his great sense of humor, how he treated all the attorneys with respect and dignity. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. He was a prince of a fellow. RIP.
