COLBERT - John Print Buttrill, 81 of Colbert, Oklahoma passed away Thursday night February 22, 2018 at Nanaws Place in Pottsboro, Texas.
He was born August 21, 1936 in Ft. Worth, Texas to William and Mildred Pigg Buttrill. He attended scool in Ft. Worth and was a R.L. Paschal High School graduate. He was in the National Guard for 20 years. He married Glenna Badgett in Ft. Worth in 1956 and moved to Mansfield, Texas in 1963 and lived there where he was employed for the General Motors Plant in Arlington, Texas as a body shop superintendent for 32 years before retiring.
They moved to Colbert in 1985 where he was very active in the Colbert Chamber of Commerce and the Durant Elks Lodge #1963 where he was a past exaulted ruler and past district deputy. He loved raising horses and had over 14.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife Glenna in 2008 2 Brothers and 2 Sisters. He later married Joy Hooks in Bonham, Texas in 2010.
Surviving is his wife Joy of the home Colbert, OK. Son Steve Buttrill and wife Donna of Colbert, OK. Step-Children Tracy Rater and husband Monte of Ravenna, TX. and Craig Hooks of Denison, TX. Grandchildren Justin Buttrill and wife Misty of Poetry, TX. and Clint Buttrill and wife Michelle of Colbert, OK. 14 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great Great Grandchildren and numerous Nieces, Nephews and friends also survive.
A Funeral Service for John Buttrill will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday morning February 26, 2018 at the Coleman Avenue Church of Christ in Colbert with Richard Gage officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memory Cemetery in Colbert.
Pallbearers will be Jerold Buttrill, Jeff Horn, Greg Johnson, Benny Bowles, Wayne Weger and Shane Stone-barger. Family night will be held from 7-8 Sunday night at the funeral home.
