Seeing Eddie's smile and beautiful blue eyes in church every Sunday was such a joy. I will miss talking with him about all things Carolina.

Eddie Mann was the consummate Southern Gentleman. Always polite and respectable. Having known and worked with him was a highlight of my career and life.

Eddie was a good man, a good friend to me when I first moved to Chapel Hill, and a better friend as time passed by. He was my banker and a long time Rotary friend as well as an active citizen when I served as Chapel Hill Town Manager. Eddie was gifted in many ways, not the least of which was his ability to relate well to a wide variety of people. Through all the years that I regularly interacted with him, he always demonstrated kindness and courtesy, never said a bad thing about anyone, and always behaved as a gentlemen. He made a positive difference because of the way he lived his life. I know that he will be missed by his family and multitude of friends.

Sincerely,

Cal Horton
