I was blessed to have met Howell last year at a fundraising event. I enjoyed every minute of our time together. He had such a bright light that drew me in immediately. The next time I saw him was at Duke Children's hospital and my heart jumped with excitement. Even while he was surrounded by those he loved so much (2 State Troopers, a Duke basketball player, his mother Sue, and the nurses), he still took a moment to speak with me and I was so honored that he remembered me. I will forever cherish the infectious smile and love of life that he shared everyone around him. Sue, he will surely live on through all the lives he touched. My prayers and heart are with you.
