I met Kenny in Cub Scouts.Me,Kenny and my dad were at the beach camping out and when it came time to set up a tent,it started pouring down rain.I was so disappointed, but my dad and some of the other leaders got us a place to stay on a huge ship that was near our camp.We had breakfast on the ship and slept on the ship that night.Me and Kenny and my dad were together when we left.My dad gave Kenny a ride home after the beach. My dad passed away shortly after the trip.He was 38 years old.Me and Kenny are the same age.I found out about Kenny Monday night on Face book from a friend.I saw Kenny one other time since the Cub scout beach trip.I feel very fortunate to be here today.I will always remember Kenny and my Dad and of course the beach trip!! I never knew Kennys parents but I feel their pain..Kennys spirt will live on forever! I will never forget the great time we all shared! The beach trip was in the 70s.All my love goes out to his family.Tyler Petty (Hillsborough)

I've met Kenny my 8th grade year on a field trip when he was with his son Andrew. I'm so sorry this has happened and I heard about this last Friday at Mike's Lakeview Hideaway. The Batt's family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace Kenny.
