Having known Nan Glass for over 25 years, and known of her accomplishments for much longer, I feel extremely fortunate. Nan's record of achievements and community service were exemplary and a model for us all. I got to know Nan personally when she was a strong supporter of preserving West Hartford's history in two specific ways that involved me: first, in the historical plaques that town historian Nelson Burr and I created, and secondly, in her valued enthusiasm for the creation of the Boulevard-Raymond Road Historic District where I lived. As a result, Nan and I became friends, and her character always inspired me. Much later, I became her neighbor in Woodland House, and soon I became aware of her vital role in the life of this community. Encountering Nan, walking Ginger, was always a pleasure.
I will never forget her.

Leadership Greater Hartford (LGH), and all of its staff, wish to express their deep appreciation for the life and leadership of Nan Glass. She was among the organizers of LGH 40 years ago, and her commitment to public service has always inspired us in everything we do. Nan made a permanent and highly beneficial contribution to the entire Greater Hartford community.
