Ed was a mentor, friend, and even my old First Sergeant back in the 1970's with the Michigan National Guard (B/2/182FA at the old Detroit Artillery Armory) who I had stayed in contact with ever since then. A fellow Artilleryman and Cannoneer, he was an example to all who knew or served with him, and will be missed by all. I'll see you on Fiddler's Green someday, my Friend, and rest in peace knowing you did a job well-done for your Country and State.

What a wonderful Friend Ed was to me thru the years in the American Legion, his smile was contagious and real. He always had a kind word to say about anyone and did it when he was with them. His passion was to help all veterans that needed assistance, one of the finest of the American Legion's Service Officer. Wish I could have been at the Funeral as I had found out a day late. God Bless you all.

Ed, you were a true leader, mentor and teacher. You will be greatly missed by your brothers and Legion family. Thank you to the family for sharing him with us all. Sending prayers to the family in this troubling time.
