James Edward "Jim" White
1941-2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Jim White announce his passing, on April 1, 2021, after a long, courageous battle with a muscle disease at the age of 79. Jim, who was the son of Lonnie B. and Maudie Mae Dunlap White, was born on November 13, 1941. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as siblings, Faye White, Lonnie White Jr., Archie White, and Billy White. Jim will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife, Merri and children, Stacey Garcia (David), Eddie White (Whitney), and Andy White (Harry). Jim will be fondly remembered as the doting "Papa" to his grandchildren, Katie, Cooper, Kirby, and Danni. Other survivors include, brother Wiley White (Carrie), and sisters, Ann Douell (Ernie) and Sandra McCallum (William) as well as many nieces and nephews. Jim worked in the Food Service industry starting at Malone & Hyde in Memphis, transferring to Beaumont, Texas in 1979 to take over the business there as General Manager. Over the years, the business was bought out by several Food Services Companies including PYA Monarch, and ultimately Sysco Food Service where he was named President of the company there in Beaumont. Jim was known as a strong leader who made a difference in many people's lives. The family would like to thank Perry James who who was a friend and caregiver for Jim for many years. Thanks also to Claudia Maya and the heart to heart hospice care team. The family will receive friends on Thursday April, 8, 2021 from 5-7pm and the funeral service will be held on Friday April 9, 2021 at 10am, all at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654. Jim was a great leader and the best boss I ever worked for. I worked with Jim from 1979-1999 when we merged with Sysco/Houston. I enjoyed going to work everyday and it was fun to work with Jim and all my other friends at Malone & Hyde, Monarch and Sysco. Jim was fair with his decisions and I have many great memories working with him.

I worked for Jim at Sysco for about 10 years and found him to be a good leader. Working with him was not just a job, it was something I looked forward to each day. He had a winning smile and much personality. Sorry to hear of his passing of this great man.
