I will miss John Sapp, my brother in Christ and life. We worked together in church for many years, as well as in business. John was a wonderful son, spouse, father, brother, and mentor. Rest in peace, John.

I met Dr. Sapp in 1974 when I attended TSU. I found him to be very friendly and an excellent Professor! My sincere condolences to the Family and Friends. Anthony W. Smith, 1976 Chemistry Graduate.

Some professors teach and some professors have a lasting effect on your life that you will always carry with you. Dr Sapp was the latter type of professor who truly cared about people. I took a chemistry lab class with him when he was moonlighting at HCC some 30 years ago. I'll never forget him, he was a beautiful human being. I'm very sorry for his family's loss, I grieve with you.

Dr Sapp was recently my Organics Chemistry Professor and he was tough, but for a reason. I had taken Chemistry twice prior and he was the only Professor to teach it to me where I actually understood it. He did not give you a grade... you earned it. To one of Texas Southerns greatest...I salute you. Rest easy, your job is done here, but you shall never be forgotten.

Dr. Sapp was a very encouraging professor. I first met him when I was working on my teacher certification at Texas Southern University. He administered my pre-certification exam for Chemistry and when I scored really high, he started encouraging me to attend graduate school. Unknown to me, he was also a member of my mom's church and whenever I would go he would always encourage me to apply to graduate school.

Dr. Sapp will be greatly missed. He was an excellent Organic Chemistry Professor. He was such a calm and understanding professor. I had heard so much about him and took his class. This is so saddening. TSU Chemistry Department surely will not be the same. Am glad I was able to Thank you before your departure.
Rest on Dr. John Sapp.
