I was so sorry to learn of his passing. He was my doctor from 1978 until he left his practice. He was always laughing and joking and I thought of him as family. May your memories bring you peace and happiness of the time you had with him. Kay Carlisle

To Ray Valdez's family,

Ray's encouraging advice gave me back my unrestricted mobility after repairing both Achilles tendons in the middle 90's. In 2010, more leftovers from my days as a competitive runner cropped up - this time, meniscus issues in both knees. Though first and foremost a surgeon, he designed rehab that has allowed me to be highly functional without surgery - even to this day. My last meeting with Ray was in behalf of a friend and neighbor who's a competitive dancer. Because, this woman was between insurance coverages, he graciously saw her on a reduced cash basis. He continued to followed up with both of us until all was well.

This was Ray ... not only highly skilled doctor but also an interested, caring man who took a sincere interest in the well-being of his patients. More than just sending my condolences, I wanted to echo what you already know ... Ray left a positive mark on everyone he encountered. May God bless you all and, Ray, may you rest in peace.

Dr. Valdez was an excellent surgeon and I still think of him often. He operated on my right foot in 2007. I am an avid runner and was very upset when he told me my recovery would be nearly 6 months of no weight bearing. However, with his skill, he had me walking/running again in a little over 3 months. I am sad and shocked to hear of his passing. My deepest and most sincere condolences to his friends, family, and all that loved and knew him.
