To Paul's family,
I was a high school friend of Paul's, although I haven't seen him for years, we have crossed paths in many ways. I remember Paul as a kind, level-headed young man. In the band, a quiet, strong leader. My father was HPD, so I kept up with Paul from a distance. It was nice to hear of his successes and his overcoming his stroke to remain a strong contributor to HPD.
As a mother, I understand Ms. Wilson's loss, I recently lost my youngest son. The pain is terrible, sometimes unbearable, but I keep looking up and beg for God's comfort, strength, and wisdom, praying for His arms to surround me with His love. I pray God gives you more comfort and peace.

I would like to extend my condolences on the loss of Speedy. He was the first partner I had when I came to Homicide and even though we only worked together for the first month, I learned a lot from him. He was a great detective and a better person. He will be sorely missed.

Dear Jeremy and Virginia,
It's been several years since we've spoken, but I have good memories of our parents (Paul & Debbie and Larry & Shirley) hanging out while us kids were playing. I remember your dad as being a wonderful person, and I want you both to know that you are in my prayers.

Dear Mary and Mrs. Wilson:

I'm so saddened to hear of Paul's death. Although I didn't know him, everything I've read here indicates he was a fine man and from what I know of Mary and her mother, I'm sure that must be true.

Mary, the connection one has to a sibling - no matter how many years apart - is so special. I'll pray for God's comfort in your loss. I love you like a sister and my heart hurts for you tonight.

Mrs. Wilson, no child should preceed a parent in death. Words are of little comfort, but I am praying for God to hold you in his hands and strengthen you.

I'm sure your husband met him with open arms. May the knowledge that Paul and his father are together again and living in Glory be a comfort.
