Howard Dennis Obituary
Howard (Mike) D. Dennis, Jr., 91, of Wauseon passed away Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2021, in his home on the farm. Howard was born Sept. 11, 1929, in Franklin Township to the late Howard D. and Bertha (Bernath) Dennis. Howard married Barabara J. Newcomer in Bryan, Ohio, on Sept. 5, 1959, and she survives.
Howard was a farmer all his life and believed in "hard" work. Howard raised and packaged potatoes for the fresh market until the early 2000s. Throughout the years he also raised tomatoes, oats, wheat, corn, and soybeans. He milked cows until in the '60s. Howard enjoyed spending the winter months in Florida 25 miles from the nearest store. He was a 60-year member of the Wauseon Masonic Lodge.
Howard is also survived by his sons, Timothy (Suzanne) Dennis and William Dennis, both of Wauseon, and John (Susan) Dennis of Fayette; a sister, Patricia Dennis Irwin; and three grandchildren, Kirsten, Christian, and Jacob Dennis.
He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley Dennis and Helen Cameron.
Visitation and burial will be private.
Short Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Community Health Professionals Hospice in Archbold or a charity of the donor's choice.
