Our thoughts and prayers are with so many as the life of a very special and cherished woman is celebrated. I am grateful for the love that Grandma Grace poured into each of our lives and the special memories that we have of her. She had so much love for her family and lived her life with a spirit of kindness, class, faith, humbleness, and hospitality. She was an inspiration in so many ways and we will miss her very much.

She was the ideal of a loving mother and grandmother. Words cannot express what she meant to so many people. She loved us all so much with that generous kind of unconditional love. She will always be remembered for the Christmas she knitted handmade dolls for all her grandchildren. (A mighty task!) My daughter still has that doll. It reminds her of special times and a very special woman. She passes stories of those times on to her children about her very special Grandma Grace. Rest in God's care, Grace.

My fondest memories of Grace where when she seemed happiest feeding and entertaining her very large family, especially on holidays. She loved having everyone organized in and around the kitchen, like a small tornado. Everyone wanted to help, though it sometimes did not seem necessary due to all the preparation cooking Grace did during the weeks prior to the event. But Grace loved interacting with her family that she loved very generously. The preparation of the event with her family seemed as important to her as the meal itself.

And I always appreciated how inclusive Grace was to her husband Jack's family when putting together those family events, so that everyone felt welcome. I also treasured her visits to us out of state when I know she really did not like to travel.

Still what I cherished most about Grace was her love for my Dad. She lit Dad up whenever she walked into the room. My Dad wanted to do everything he could for her. Grace helped him heal from the pain of his divorce. And you could especially see their connection on every dance floor they could stroll on to. My Dad's best years were when he danced with Grace. Thank you dear woman for loving my father.

I hope you two are happy together again. I feel my Dad has been waiting for you.

Please accept my sincere sympathy in the passing of your mother.
I have only good memories of Grace and felt like all the kids on 23rd street were well cared for when she was around.
