LaVerda Mae Pollard
July 17, 1931 - October 24, 2016
LaVerda was born on July 17, 1931 to Earl and Alice Teater.
She and Ed Pollard married in 1953, and although they divorced in 1973, they remained constant business partners, and friends. She and Ed ran Pollard's Restaurant in Caldwell for 35 years, along with Cattlemen's Cafe, and a couple of others, during that time. They raised Appaloosa Show Horses, Race Horses, and Black Angus Cattle. LaVerda made the desserts for Pollard's Restaurant and Karcher Estates for many years. She had many loyal customers that came in as often as they could just for her Carmel Nut Rolls.
She loved to bake, cook, sew, and care for her family.
LaVerda was a dedicated mother to her 3 children. She always did everything she could to give them the best, and make their lives full. She was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, and sponsored boys and girls baseball teams. She sewed Western Outfits for her kids to ride in the Little Britches Rodeo (winning first place in the Snake River Stampede). She always brought fresh Broasted Chicken, drinks, and snacks, to all of her kid's events, and cupcakes to her kid's schools for all occasions. Needless to say, all of her kid's friends thought she was the greatest, and still ask about her, to this day.
She was a kind, caring and beautiful woman, inside and out.
She passed away in the house she was born in, in the Dixie area West of Caldwell, surrounded by her family. She will be tremendously missed.
LaVerda was preceded in death by her brother, Frank Teater. She is survived by her son Doug Pollard and daughters Kris (Randy) Robinson and Kelli Pollard, grandchildren Kayla Pollard, Jesse Yettick, Jordan Yettick, Dylan (Belen) Yettick and great granddaughter Clara Yettick.
She requested a private family service. Condolences may be left at www.flahifffuneralchapel.com.

Memories back to the Red Top School of Laverda what great times those were. She was such a lovely person and will be so fondly remembered. She was a beautiful person both inside and out. Made fabulous Choc Chip Cookies. Our prayers are with you at this time.

Our sympathies to LaVerda's family. We of her Caldwell High Class of 1949 have always admired her, and have many memories of stopping to eat at Pollard's in Caldwell many years ago. May God's comfort be with the entire family at this time.
