Dear Berit,

I was speaking by phone with my son last night and just happened to mention my years of practice in Boise. He told me about Al. I can't tell you how saddened I was and still am to hear of his passing.
Al was just one of those bigger than life people you never forget. What a genuine and good person. he was really one of a kind. I will not forget him.
My deepest condolences Berit.

I met my friend Al H. Kuykendall in 1977 at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio where he was a founding member of the club. For over forty years, he was a person whom I could always depend on for guidance, inspiration and fun conversation. I wish that everyone who reads these words could have known the man I affectionately referred to as "Docko."

AL forever changed my life. AL introduced me to Tennessee football and off I went to play for the Vols. His passion and love for UT are one of the main reasons I chose to go there. By him finding me out in Idaho and encouraging me to go to TN forever changed my life. I cant imagine what my life would look like now had it not been for AL looking out for me. I loved spending time with him and he always had great stories to tell. AL did a lot for so many people (patients, friends, and even a few football player). You were a great friend!
