So sorry for your loss. Jeremiah 29:11,12 says, "For I well know the thoughts that I am thinking toward you, thoughts of peace, and not of calamity, to give you a future and a hope And you will call me and pray to me, and I will listen to you. "

My sincere condolences to your family. May God "who comforts us in all our trials" (2 Cor 1:4) comfort you and your family at such a difficult time. I know God will help you to endure because he cares for you (1Peter 5 :7).

I remember Bernie very well. He was over six feet tall and my Grandpa employed him as a mechanic's aid in his auto repair garage on fourth street. My brother and I were throwing rocks one day being 7 and 9 year old boys that we were, and one connected with a window in Bernie's car. The next day my grandpa asked us if we remembered throwing rocks. We told him it was an accident which it was, however my Grandpa paid for and replaced Bernie's window. My late grand parents and I always had respect for Bernie being an honorable man that he was. My condolences go out to the Elwood family and the nieces and nephews of Bernie.
