I found Bill's obituary while my dad, Bob Kearney, was reminiscing about his oldest and best friends. Bob doesn't do computers and isn't up to writing notes any more. But, I've never had a visit with him in recent memory when he hasn't mentioned having a great friend in Bill while growing up in Astoria. I have heard stories about Bill and Bob for years, especially the times in Boy Scouts and Sea Scouts, as well as the ready availability of pop from the bottling works for parties. While I've met Bob several times, I only met Bill once at his mother's 80th birthday party. He was fun and engaging to this poor stand-in for Bob Kearney. Bob was very fond of Bill and even though they hadn't talked in a while he cherishes Bill's memory in his heart.

What a guy and what a life! A friend I could always depend on.. He was always there. Had many an adventure and tried so many things that I would've never have done if not for Doc. I got a second family out of the deal to boot. A 47 year friendship now at an end.. Crap

Goodbye my fine, fine friend Doc-adoodle-do

Dr. Kendall, I only have fond memories of all the great adventures you had with my father, and with us kids tagging along. I am honored that you encouraged me to join the Masons, a decision I made because of you. I loved all the adventures we went on, flying, hunting trout fishing, sailing and skiing. I just wish you had an opportunity to go on a moose hunt with me in Alaska, or work on my Troller in SE Alaska. Now that you are with my father, remind him that worms are not an ethical bait and its ok to throw a big fish back for the future stock of a secret and no-name stream stream. May your heavenly blessings be as great as the earthly blessings you bestowed on us.

Love you, Dad. I'll certainly miss you here. Rest In Peace.... With love from your oldest, Kevin
