I just heard of Connie's passing. She was instrumental in my career choice and lead me down the teaching path I am in. She believed in me and knew I could make fitness a bigger part of PE.

My heart aches for you, Barb. I'll always have fond memories of Connie. She was a leader both on the court, in the classroom or leading the way for women. Connie's positive attitude and her quick smile always cheered me up. She was a wonderful woman and will be missed by many. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I am saddened to hear about Connie's passing. She was dedicated to social justice through girls and women in sport. It was an honor to serve on the NAGWS Board of Directors with her. Darlene Kluka, NAGWS President, 1990-1991.

One of my teammates from Boise State Women's Basketball Team 1983-84, Cynthia Greenstar, just emailed and shared the sad news of Connie's passing. Ironically enough, I just googled Connie 2 weeks ago trying to reconnect. My youngest son just got his driving permit and I was giving him driving tips. The memory of traveling to my hometown of Los Angeles and driving with Connie and the team is something I'll never forget. Connie missed the exit on the freeway and preceded to backup. We ALL hollered "NO!" and then had the best laugh ever! Connie and Barb recruited me out of high school and it was the only year I played college ball due to an injury the following year. I can honestly say that Connie had a heart of gold. I have fond memories of playing under she and Barb and I made life long friends and memories. I want her family and friends to know that she impacted my life in a powerful and meaningful way. My sincere condolences and heartfelt appreciation to Connie for being such an amazing person and making a positive difference in this world. My God comfort you during this difficult time.
Love you always!
