January 21, 2017 - Today we held a Celebration of Life for my Momma, Dorothy Mae Davick. We were absolutely delighted that Momma's favorite place to eat (Cook's Two Hole, in Melba, Idaho), allowed us to hold her Celebration of Life in their restaurant. We enjoyed Cook's Two Hole wonderful burgers, fries, and drinks, shared memories and funny stories. We laughed, we cried, and got to see family and friends, whom she loved and enjoyed a warm wood stove fire, munched on Momma's favorite treats (Caramel Puffcorn and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups), got to know a lot more about the woman, the mother, the auntie, the friend to many. We had a wonderful time Celebrating the Life of Dorothy Mae Davick. There is a hole in my life, and my heart because you're not here. I miss you, Momma. Don't forget to send me a sign that you're okay. I'm still worried about you. Just a little sign will do... Love, Carol

I loved my Aunt Dorothy! She had a great sense of humor and a wonderful laugh and she was an awesome cook. I remember as a young girl, when we visited on Christmas Eve, admiring the presents she had wrapped under the tree. She was so creative! When my Mom died in 1993 she gave me the biggest hug! I will never forget it. She told me that when she and Mom were young with small children they would buy glazed donuts for the kids and each of them would get a French twist. She said they felt decadent. I am sorry I missed out on her later years, but know she was truly loved by her family - especially Carol. She will be missed. Heaven received a special woman. She and Uncle Lee, Mom and Dad are together again.

Dear Dorothy,
Thank you for being so kind to me when I was a little squirt. I appreciate everything. And I'm glad that I was able to say hello to you as a adult. You will be so missed because you are so loved. Until we meet again.
