1921 - 2016
Evelyn L. Pollard, 95, passed away on Monday, December 26th at a care facility in Boise. Services will be held at Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell on Saturday, January 7 at 2 p.m. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.dakanfuneralchapel.com
Evelyn was born February 20, 1921 in Oakland, CA to Adele and Albert Young. She grew up on the family farm outside of Watsonville, CA.
While attending business school in the Monterey, CA area, Evelyn met Sam Pollard, who was stationed in the area. They were married on October 25, 1944 after Sam served his country proudly.
Soon after their marriage, Sam moved Evelyn from California to Parma, ID. Evelyn not only kept herself busy raising her three children, but also worked as a school lunch lady for the Parma School District.
Evelyn and Sam were very involved in their favorite pastime, square dancing for 40 years. Another great passion they had was traveling/camping in their trailer.
Evelyn is survived by her three children; daughters, June Irwin of Caldwell, and Karen Pollard of Boise; son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Pat Pollard of Caldwell; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Pollard; parents, Albert and Adele Young; and her sister Eleanor.

I am so sorry to hear of this. My heart goes out to Sam, June and Karen and their families. Evelyn was a big part of my life growing up and I'll never forget her Banana Bread, trips to California, Old Fort Boise Days and feeding Karen's horse. May good memories put a smile on your faces. My deepest sympathies.
