Jerry Hodges
1965 - 2016
Jerry was born in Reno, Nevada on May 24, 1965. He graduated from Fernley High School in 1983, and attended Truckee Community College following high school. After his time at Truckee, he joined the United States Marine Corps, and was active duty for 4 years. During this time, he met and married the love his life, Marnie Harrison, in 1987, and together they have 3 daughters. They moved to Boise in 1988, where he was a well-known and respected automotive mechanic for various shops in the Boise/Meridian area, including owning and running his own shop for several years. In Sept. 2015, he and Marnie moved to Salem, OR when a new career opportunity arose; there, he also got the chance to spend more time with our Oregon family and vacation more at the beach, one of his favorite places to be.
Jerry was an adventure seeker during his life here on earth. During high school and young adulthood, he participated in rodeos as a bull rider. He was also involved in motocross and jet ski racing, but found his true passion in drag racing, and raced his '79 Mustang regularly at Firebird Raceway for 20 years.
His family was the light of his life, especially his grandkids. Despite all of his exciting thrill-seeking adventures, his happiest times were at backyard barbecues, spending time with family and playing with the kids. He was a loving husband, dad, grampa, and friend, who was loved and respected by all that knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Marnie; daughter, Ashley; son-in-law, Joe; daughter, Amber; son-in-law, Kevin; daughter, Amanda; and 5 grandkids: Taylor, Tahlia, Brady, Annabelle, and Madelyn.
A memorial service in celebration of Jerry's life will be held this Sunday, July 31, from 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm, at Firebird Raceway, 8551 Highway 16, Eagle, Idaho.
The family is receiving condolences at 9320 W. Mossywood Dr., Boise, ID, 83709.

Jerry you were a good brother and I will never forget the memories we shared. Although we grew apart and lived on separate ends of the USA you will be missed and thought of often.
