Mary Jo Jackson Martin
1931 - 2016
Mary Jo Jackson Martin, age 84, passed away on July 8, 2016 in Boise, ID. She was born September 30, 1931 in Stokes County, NC to Joseph and Della Inman Jackson. She retired from the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System in 1984. She and her beloved husband Paul became interested in family history and through the years she compiled a very large database, enjoyed meeting other genealogists, and was always eager to share her research with them. She moved with her late husband Paul to Boise, Idaho from Wilmington, NC in 2005. She was a member of the Amity United Methodist Church in Boise. She loved God and her church family at Amity very much. Her hobbies included needlework, reading, gardening, traveling, and genealogy. She did not want her obituary to simply indicate that she died; she wanted others to remember that she enjoyed life. She lived a very full life and tried to add sparkle to the lives of others. She especially loved her neighbors and the times they spent together. She is survived by her loving daughter Terilyn and her husband Brian, a daughter-in-law Victoria, a granddaughter Christine and her husband Nic; great-granddaughter Ashton Jade, and great-grandson Jasper Jason, all of Boise, ID; her sister and brother-in-law Doris and Edgar Burrow of King NC; brother-in-law Roy Martin of Winston-Salem, NC, and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul, her son Gordon Brent, and a brother, Donald Ray Jackson. The family will hold a Memorial Service in Boise to celebrate the life of Jo at a later time.
