Steven Akira Wakatsuki
April 30, 1948 - March 4, 2017
Steven Akira Wakatsuki passed away on March 4, 2017, 68 years young. He was born in Long Beach, California to Woodrow and Chizuye Wakatsuki and was the fifth of eight children.
He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Steve received his Associate's degree from Ventura College and worked for Intel and then Hewlett Packard. He met his wife, Tae Bok, in Puerto Rico while working for HP and married her in Lake Tahoe, California on September 28, 1985.
Although a simple man who led a simple life, Steve was a great man, a loving husband, father and friend. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Steven is survived by his wife, Tae Bok; children, Lee, Tae Bok Jr. and Hanako; and siblings, George, Christina, Joyce and Diana.
Steven's memorial will be held on April 30, 2017 at the Middleton Trolley Station in Middleton, Idaho. This will be an informal event where friends and family can drop-in between 4pm-7pm to celebrate Steve's life with his family. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Friends of Minidoka at minidoka.org. Friends of Minidoka engages in and supports education, research, and historic preservation of the WWII Japanese American incarceration experience in Idaho.
