Vonne Verheyen Butler
December 27, 1961 - March 25, 2017
Vonne Verheyen Butler was born in Caldwell, Idaho on December 27, 1961 to Bud and Blanche Verheyen. She passed away on March 25, 2017. She attended Vallivue High School and began her bachelor's degree at Idaho State University. Vonne later settled in Arlington, Texas with her husband Doug Butler, where they raised their family. It was then that she discovered her true passion was motherhood. She attended the University of Texas in Arlington and UT Southwestern.
Vonne loved a good story. Especially when she was telling them; which she did with great detail and questionable accuracy. If she told you the story of her life it would be full of love for her kids, her friends, and Idaho. It would tell of her days volunteering for the PTA, coaching sports and Destination Imagination teams, becoming a personal trainer, opening a gym, and moving back to her beloved mountains. Her story would, of course, include fast cars, motorcycles, dancing and good wine, but mostly her kids. It would be far from dull and filled with tenacity. It surely would not have been this short.
Vonne was preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Blanche Verheyen; and brother, Bill Verheyen.
She is survived by her children, Casey Butler and Nicky Butler; countless "adopted" children; wonderful friends; and her loving companions, Huckleberry and Zoey.
A celebration with story time will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 31st at Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. A gathering will be held in Texas at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Destination Imagination Inc., 1111 S. Union Ave, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002.

Our Vonne world began when we moved in next door to each other at the same time. We didn't meet with a knock on the door but with Vonne in their tree house checking to see if there were kids her kids age next door. Jeremy and Jessica began babysitting for Nicky and Casey and pretty much never left their house. We love u and know Vonne is up there with Jeremy and Dime Bag Derrell riding in that purple Corvette.

Sweet vonne, I can't believe your gone. You were such a good friend and lovely person. I will miss you so. Nicky and Casey take comfort in the love she left behind with everyone she touched. She loved you kids with every cell in her body and she was so proud of you both. Continue to spread her spirit with your lives. I'm so sad for us all.

Casey and Nicky, I am so sorry for your loss. The Vallivue Class of 1980 loved your mom. She was always fun. Our class built a float at your mom's house one year--a memory I won't ever forget. Although I will be unable to attend her celebration of life this Friday, I will raise a glass and salud in her honor.
