I am sorry to just learn of President Ipsen's passing and hope his wife and family will see this. I have a tremendous love and respect in my heart for President Ipsen that I have carried over the years since serving with him in the Denmark mission. Having lost my father three years prior to serving my mission, he was like a father figure to me and I loved him so much. He helped, counseled and encouraged me and gave me confidence that I could do anything. He was kind, wise, inspiring and fun to work with. May God bless him forever, and may God bless his sweet wife and family.

Senator Grant Ipsen was a tremendous champion of religious freedom. He was the successful legislative sponsor of Idaho's Free Exercise of Religion Act of 2000, a bill that he, yours truly and the Northwest Religious Liberty Association (NRLA) spearheaded together. Ipsen was also an avid advocate and pioneer of the organization known as Stop Predatory Gambling, of which our organization worked with him closely on. Grant was looking forward to attending the 25th Anniversary Gala of the NRLA on Aug. 16 as a special honoree. The Adventist Church had also recognized him in 2003 through Liberty magazine, the North American and International Religious Liberty Association's annual Liberty Awards Banquet held in the Watergate Ballroom of the Russell Senate Building, in Washington, D.C.

A good friend of the NRLA, Grant is truly missed. May God bless his wonderful family.

Gregory W. Hamilton, President
Northwest Religious Liberty Association

President Ipsen had a lasting effect on my life, teaching hard work, loyalty to the Gospel, and loving care to all he served.

Grant was our Stake President when I first got to know him. He was working for MONY and encouraged me to check out the business. I did so and met some of the most wonderful people of my life. I have a world of respect for Grant and his wealth of knowledge and wisdom. He will be dearly missed. Our sincere best wishes to the Ipsen family!
