Just a mega-kudo to whomever wrote this. I rarely read obits, but the picture grabbed me and two paragraphs in i was hooked. Didn't know LKE, but he sounds like an amazing guy. Thanks for sharing! -Rob (also 62)

Lance played James Bond, Superman, a Legend in his own mind, and many other roles he enjoyed. But there was no acting in his biggest roles of his life, Husband, Father, Son, Brother, and Friend. In all the kidding and humor that surrounded Lance, he truly treasured his precious family that he started later in life than most but saved his best years for last and with style. Always wanting the best for them, he really loved Theresa with all he had. Tied to Lance indirectly through family, My first memories of Lance started when I was about 8 or 9 years old. I worked with Lance, was partners in a business with him, and mostly friends with Lance. He did everything with passion. All the time giving everyone that came in contact with him an opportunity to hear his cackle laugh. Traveled with Lance and Theresa and was always impressed how Theresa kept Lance in line and organized. My thoughts and prayers are with Theresa and the kids, I will miss you Lance!

Dear Eckersell Family & Friends,

I am shocked and saddened to hear of your huge loss!

I worked with Lance many years ago and found him to be one of the most brilliant people I have ever met. Never before had I been around a person who could see an opportunity in things that others took for granted. An ability to size people up and gather information about a situation with speed that most can't fathom. Truly remarkable!

I've known Theresa since jr high / high school and she is one of my favorite people in the world. I was thrilled for her when she crossed paths with Lance and started a very cool life with him.

My best wishes and hopes for all of you going forward.
Tom
