I knew Michael Hyde over a period of many years. I lost touch with Michael for quite a while early on but recently we reconnected and I found him to be a genuine wealth of good advice and accurate information. Michael was blatantly honest to a fault. Possibly Michael never considered that discretion should be the greater part of valor, but in its place he had totally undaunted courage, and he always faced the most difficult things in his life directly no matter the consequences. When things fell apart, he had the admirable and unique ability to pick up the pieces, to regroup, and to continue the march as if nothing had ever happened!

I was greatly impressed with Michaels relentless dedication to assisting others. His continued work with Doug Rich and others of the VOI Club, his patient and tireless attendance to testing sessions for Bishops Warehouse amateur radio licensing was certainly a labor of love. I personally appreciated Michael's taking BHS Director Mr. Bob Wells under his wing and helping Bob with his studies for taking his Ham Radio Test which Bob had always wanted all of his life, right up to seeing Bob pass his test and receive his ham radio license, which was a very important achievement to Bob and Michael really worked hard to helping Bob with doing that. Michael is gone now but is remembered well and he is not forgotten!
