Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Herrera Family know that we recently made a small donation to Boots On The Ground in honor of Octavio Herrera US Army Staff Sergeant. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

Octavio became a great man and has inspired me, and I'm sure there are many more people, to be a better person. Remembering his innocence as a young man and as a kid reminds me there are people born who God chose to shine his light through. Octavio was truly one of the chosen, God has a plan for us all, and tavis touched so many lives, his passing was not in vain. I love you like a brother miguel and I love your familia like mine. RIP octavio gone but never forgotten.

Dear Courtney and Octavio's family,
No words can ever express the sympathy you need at a time such as this. Only knowing that he was a superb warrior, a hero to you and his band of brothers, and that he is not in pain but resting in the loving arms of his Savior can possibly help. I truly wish that circumstances had been different, but we never know what the Lord has in mind for our future. It has been said in Manteo you are a very strong woman of faith, and I'm sure your husband is very proud of you for upholding him in this way. His buddies will support you any way they can - that is the Army way. If I can help in any way, I will be more than glad to do so. Mike is still in Afghanistan with the 101st until January, but I'm in Manteo. Be strong, rely on our Lord, and remember we all love you all. With prayers,
Kathy Dough

I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Octavio will never be forgotten.

For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I'm home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I'm only a civilian
And I don't even know if it's allowed

But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.

For those missing in action;
for those who didn't make it home.
I know you're in God's presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.

I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.

I salute you .

I Salute You.
