Just heard of Philly G's passing and am deeply sorry for the loss. I enjoyed being his friend and working together at One Call Communications while your family lived in Bloomington, Indiana. My sincerest sympathy.

I just now heard of Phil's passing and it hit me hard. I was always amazed by his talent. I've recorde many folks in my time. One of my all time favorites is Phil playing clarinet with the Hoochie Coochie Men on a Louis Armstrong song called, "Struttin' with the Bar-B-Cue" .... It reflects Phil perfectly and it always puts a smile on my face when I listen to it.... God bless you, Phil ....

Sorry to hear of Phil's passing. Too young. I met Phil at North Texas School of Music. He was a real inspiration and one of my music heroes. Got to play with him later in a big band and it was a thrill. He was also one of the nicest people I've ever met. Never a harsh word.
He should have been a Jazz Star, but i think he chose the right path for him. One of the greats.

Thank you Phil for all your wonderful music and the good times at the Blues Bouquet. I will miss you my dear friend. Marlene
