My deepest sympathy to the family of "Big Ray" Inglin for their loss of their patriarch. Big Ray's son Steve has been my friend since college.

Although we have only met briefly, by all accounts, Big Ray must have been a great guy. He did so much, raised such a great family, and obviously loved his Swiss and Idaho roots. He must have been a great inspiration and role model for each member of his family. I know he an inspiration for my friend, Steve.

As a parent myself, I know one of the greatest complements a man can receive is to be recognized as being dedicated to raising a great child or a great family. Although I did not know him, Big Ray seems to have been a human prototype of such a family man, a role model extraordinaire. We need only look at his children to recognize the great impact he had on his children.

I wish I could have spent more time in Ray's presence with my friend Steve, a sensitive, thought, humorous and larger-than-life person. Steve is a loyal friend. Steve is great guy. These are traits I am sure which people who know Big Ray would recognize. It is always a treat to meet and get to know the person who started it all...the father.

Having a son like Steve whose daily actions and aspirations reflect solid priorities, like honoring his father and mother, and carrying on the legacy of his father each day, to me, is a form of clear evidence that we can each witness a form of eternal life in action as we interact with others each day. We are all children who reflect our parents' formative impact.

The Inglin family was lucky to have had Big Ray in their lives for so long. Not everyone is so lucky.

May Big Ray continue to live on each day in the lives of each of his children, and especially in my friend Steve.

When I see Steve again, I will make it a point to recognize in Steve, the living, breathing spirit of his Dad.

In sympathy with all of the Inglin family, during their time of loss,

Steve Page
