I believe you only get a handful of memorable teachers in a lifetime. Dr. Payne was one of them for me. It was always clear he had a real passion for teaching and genuinely enjoyed working with students. I think he'd be happy to know that nearly 15 years after taking his classes, I still think about the economic concept of utility.' Thank you Dr. Payne, you will be missed.

Dick was one of the great ones, he always had a good word and smile for everyone. I worked with him on his testing for many years and he is one of the ones I really missed when I changed jobs.

It was always nice to come into work and see his little blue car in the parking lot.

Your have my prayers and I know that you have lost someone very special to you. You have great memories that can never be replaced.

Dr. Payne has had a great impact on my life as he was my advisor at BSU. I changed my major to have this incredible teacher as an influence in my life. He helped me work with Bong Shin on internships, guided me through a double major, just a lot of assistance and he was glad to do it. Many students voted for Dr. Payne as teacher of the year in the School of Business every year.
When I reflect on my time at BSU, which I thoroughly enjoyed, I think of Dr. Payne. He genuinely cared about everyone and it was obvious that he really enjoyed teaching young men and women and contributing to their futures.
Once or twice there is a hero close by in a person's life who you can model your life after. I am very grateful that Dr. Payne was one of those men for me.
I know he was a family man, very humble and a hard worker. Thank you for everything Dr. Payne.
