My words for Tom were "Bigger Than Life." I spent many hours listening to his stories of Gem County history. He introduced me to so many awesome people and I wrote feature stories on them all.
We were still working on a few ideas and he gave me a phone number for a lady on my phone message a few days before he passed away. When I listen to it, I cry.
His life definitely impacted mine. I took my elderly dad to Ola to one of Tom's history events and he yelled, "Battery Leonard!" He said," Diana I didn't know Leonard was your dad!" They knew each other when from years past when dad had a battery distributorship and sold him batteries. They were two of a kind and could out tell stories to each other. I lost my dad 10 months ago too. I wish I had written down his stories also.

I attended Tom's funeral and was amazed at all the people who had the same kind of relationship with him that I did. I admired him and pray for the family because I know how it feels to lose someone who is bigger than life.
