I met her through her son. She is only the second person in my life I came to know as Mama. I feel so blessed to have known such a wonderful and amazing woman. I would come by and help her to the back porch, the smile I got in return always filled my heart. I know I don't know many of the family but I knew her. We spent hours talking almost every day. I loved her as if she were my blood. They don't make women like the used too, and Mama is the finest example. Losing her broke my heart, but knowing her and receiving her friendship and love was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I am so thankful I got to say goodbye on the night she passed. She lives on in my heart in the most loving of memories. I know if I cared for her as much as I did over the far too few years of our friendship, The ones who shared a lifetime of friendship with her could only see it as a defining love within their lives. I met her during a period of my life when I truly gave up hope on humanity and anything being worth the effort in this life. She showed me good people are still in this world. Her love truly opened the world of possibilities to me. Thank you Mama. You gave me hope, and even if there is only one good persons to millions of others, I know through knowing you, one good soul is worth a lifetime of love and effort. You are the most amazing person I have ever known. Thank you Mama. You saw in me what I refused to see in myself. You forced me to look in the mirror with pride. You gave me an example of what it is to be a good person, and I know your are setting the example to god's my favorite angels now too. You gave me a tomorrow. I'll always love you. No one person has ever had a better friend. I'll see you soon.

My most favorite person in the world has left us and I am deeply saddened. Billie was my best friend for 47+ years. She and I saw each other through my sons births (she drove me to the hospital for the 2nd one), our parents deaths, divorces, child raising, sharing Sunday dinners at her house or mine, getting stranded in the middle of the night on their boat in Hartwell Lake and me preggers (guys had to swim for help), family trips together and so much more. We shared our lives, our loves, our losses, our ups and our downs. I have lost a significant influence in my life. She never had an unkind word to say about anyone, she was deeply religious, faithful to a fault, family oriented and so much more. It is all our loss. I will miss you immensely.
