John Lee (Jack) Stenacker

Indianapolis - John Lee (Jack) Stenacker, 82, died in Indianapolis on January 11, 2021. He was born on June 21, 1938 in Akron, Ohio, the only child of Sarah (McBride) and Jack Stenacker. He graduated from Howe High School in Indianapolis in 1955, and Indiana University Bloomington in 1959 with a degree in business and was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He spent his career in medical sales. Although he took an early retirement, he did not sit idle. He was a school bus driver for the Carmel Clay School system for 7 years and continued to enjoy chasing the little white ball around central Indiana golf courses. He was a regular volunteer with the InterFaith Hospitality Network, Cross and Crown Lutheran Church, Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation, and Congregation Beth Shalom.

He had an adventuresome spirit and loved his motorcycles, was a small craft pilot, and learned to skate board at 40. Jack loved his kids, grandsons, and his extended "selected" family. He could make a mean dirty martini or bloody Mary. His favorite foods included White Castle, Crispy Cream Donuts, Snickers bars, and spray butter.

Jack will be remembered for his quick wit, easy smile, and as a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbi (Einstandig) Stenacker, and 4 children Mindy Schultz, Steve (Mary Jo) Stenacker, John David Stenacker, and Debra (Brad) Rusk. His three grandsons Brian (Paige) Schultz, Harrison Rusk, and Taggert (Belle) Rusk were the apples of his eye.

Private graveside services for Jack Stenacker will be held at Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation North Cemetery. A memorial service will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Hamilton County Family Promise, Salvation Army, and the Indiana Donor Network.
