I just learned of the loss of LTC Kim Gage. My heart hurts for his family; the Gage Family and his Army Family. I had the honor of working under him as his Garrison Safety Officer at Camp Navajo in Arizona. He was a man that looked after his troops and lead by example. I was an Arizona State Trooper for over 20 years and a medic for 22 years. I have met many REAL MEN in my life and Kim Gage will always stand at the top of that list. To his family, I have lost a son so I feel your lost. That said every lost is different and my heart sends its love to you all. To his Army colleges I suffered 16 line of duty deaths in my 20 year law enforcement carrier; it never gets easy. My Love and Respect to all.

I remember when he took command of our company in Afghanistan. I could tell when I met him that he cared about the Soldiers, NCOs and Officers that he was now responsible for. He demonstrated that from the beginning. I wasn't under his command for long but I knew the company was in good hands.
To his family, I am truly sorry for your loss, he was taken way to early. To his wife and children left behind, just know that he was respected by everyone that met him. I know that doesn't take the pain away but I hope it shows you how he touched the lives of Soldiers.
Rest easy LTC Gage, we have the watch now! Essayons!
