JOSEPH BORDOGNA Ph.D.

He was a wonderful person. We graduated from the Moore School of Electrical Engineering at Penn in the class of 1955.

All of us at the Engineers Club of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Engineering Foundation are grateful to have known and worked with Joe. His dedication to the Philadelphia Engineering community leaves a lasting legacy and we share our heartfelt condolences to Frances and all of Joes family and Friends.

It broke my heart to read of Joes passing. At precisely the time when we need men of principle and leadership the most, it is hard to imagine a world without him. His energy, ideals and his commitment to always do the most selfless task first made Joe a role model for my life. When I first came to Penn and he was Dean, he passed out reading lists to his staff that they shared with me and they were marvelous! I worked with him on PRIME and witnessed firsthand his heartfelt commitment to helping young students to discover the power of engineering, and I believe that passion is what led me to go to work in Penn Engineering. The world has lost a remarkable man and while memories of his strength, passion and humor will bring us all comfort, so many, myself included, will miss him dearly! May you have all of the love, hope and strength that you need to face the future.
