April 29, 1989 - January 05, 2021 It is with broken hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of our son and brother Michael, at the age of 31. Michael is pre-deceased by his grandparents; John and Isabel Stone, and Mary and Mike Opreff and two aunts. Will be sorely missed by his parents, John and Rose and his sister Elizabeth. He will be greatly missed by his aunts and uncles, his many cousins, and friends. Born and raised in Oakville, he attended Holy Trinity, and then went on to get both a culinary and business diploma at Humber College, and attended Guelph Humber University. Michael was a gentle soul, selfless, and always willing to lend a helping hand. A hard worker, he was with Longo's for 17 years, learning his way through many roles. A man of many talents - he was cook, a construction worker, a meat cutter, baker - fulfilling many of these at the same time. He enjoyed preparing meals with his mother, and certainly enjoyed eating those meals. Michael shared a special bond with his older sister and valued her opinion. He was very caring and enjoyed cuddling with his dogs. With a good sense of humor, he enjoyed watching comedies and sharing a laugh with friends. An avid X-Box aficionado, he liked meeting and playing with others online. An Adventurous spirit, he loved to travel and see new things. Michael enjoyed traveling with his mom and dad, particularly, enjoyed his trip to South Africa. Michael had a special place in his heart for his late aunt Mary. So for those who wish, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Kincardine Community Living or Halton Down Syndrome Association. Our Sweet Boy, taken too soon. Due to the restrictions, a private family service will be held. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
