My first and most enduring memory of Aunty Pat was on her wedding day. My sister and I were staying with Pat's father, our grandfather. I remember her coming into the bedroom in the evening and going over to the wardrobe and taking out a guitar. She sat on the bed and sang to us. I fell in love with that beautiful exotic lady there and then and have loved her ever since. My last memory of her is lying in bed two days before she died. She looked so beautiful to me, I'm not sure if she recognised me but I hugged and kissed her before I left and the memory that will stay with me forever is of her beautiful blue eyes watching me as I left. They say the eyes are the windows of the soul, what a pure and lovely soul she has. May God bless and keep her.
