Through our friendship with Jamie, and Mark, we were privileged to get to know Bruce and Carol. We always enjoyed socializing with Bruce, in Dothan as well as Florida and even New York City. We hold many fond memories of him. Our loving thoughts to Carol and her family. Kathy and Hugh Holloway

Carol....
I will always treasure those times when Bruce was ACA President and I was on staff and had the opportunity to learn from his knowledge and experiences. He was a "leader" of the counseling profession in every sense of the word.

Dear Shertzer Family:

On behalf of the leadership and staff of the American Counseling Association, we mourn the loss of Bruce and will keep his loving family and friends in our thoughts. He contributed so much to the association and we are grateful for his service as an outstanding volunteer leader.

Regards,
Richard Yep, CEO

Carol and family, my heart holds you on this journey. I was a graduate student in Bruce's department 1979-1981 and his leadership was deeply felt by all of us. And as I made my way in the world, his influence stayed with me. He was highly regarded by the faculty and staff, loved by his students and he had great impact on our field. What a legacy. Warm thoughts to all of you, Teresa Roche
