Lois Majora Odenkirk
Frankfort, Indiana - Lois Majora Odenkirk, 90, of Frankfort, Indiana and formerly of Wayne Co., Ohio passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Wesley Manor in Frankfort.
She was born March 2, 1927 in Seville, the daughter of Howard and Beatrice Braley Kaufman.
Majora met her husband, Harold Odenkirk, while working as a "Rosie the Riveter" at Rubbermaid as a part of the war effort. They were married on June 30, 1946. Harold preceded her in death on December 17, 2001.
For most of her life, Majora lived in Wayne County and was a stay at home mom to their two daughters. She had also worked for several years in the office at Friendly Wholesale. Because of her petite stature, she became a master seamstress, sewing all of her and her daughter's clothes, including coats, suits, and wedding dresses. Majora was an avid reader, especially enjoying history and mysteries.
Majora had been an active member and Sunday school teacher at East Union Lutheran Church and was currently a member at Memorial Presbyterian Church in Dayton, Indiana.
She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Page of Chillicothe and Judy (Rick) Ryan of Mulberry, Indiana; grandchildren, Brian Christian, Tyler (Carrie) Ryan and Aaryn Ryan; great-grandchildren, Gavin and Layla Ryan and her siblings, Bill (Ruth) Kaufman of Orrville and Corrine Graf of Wooster.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Lyle Kaufman.
Friends will be received 1 hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. service at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with the Rev. Rob Moskowitz officiating. Burial will follow in the East Union Cemetery.
