Aaron Vail Allen III
West Lafayette - Aaron Vail Allen III, 77, of West Lafayette, IN and formerly of Fair Haven, VT, passed away on Dec 10th, 2017 at Creasy Springs Health Center in Lafayette, Indiana.
He was born March 16, 1940, the son of the late Aaron Vail and Marquita M. (McFarren) Allen, Jr. of Fair Haven, Vermont.
Aaron attended Holderness School and then served his country for eight years in the United States Air Force. After his service, he worked for the Vermont telephone company.
He then graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Journalism. While in Tucson, he met and married Nancy Lynn Oshier of Lafayette, Indiana on June 25, 1973. After graduation, Aaron and Nancy moved back to Lafayette. Aaron worked for Subaru until his retirement.
He enjoyed various independent interests.
Survivors include his daughter, Olivia Leigh Allen Banes of Roscoe, IL; his grandson, Matthew of Roscoe, IL; and his sister, Rebecca Allen Hougher of Iowa and Fair Haven, VT.
Aaron was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Allen, in 2016.
In the Spring there will be a Graveside Memorial Service at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Fair Haven, Vermont with the assistance of the Durfee Funeral Home. You may light a Candle of Hope in remembrance of Aaron and sign his online guestbook by visiting www.fisherfuneralchapel.com

Sorry to hear of Aaron's passing, I would like to offer my sincere condolences to his family. Jeremiah 29:11 assures us God is thinking thoughts of peace towards us, to give us a future and a hope. In the days to come may you find comfort in that hope.
